Mage One – Support for Magento 1 after End of Life

The e-commerce software Magento 1 has no longer been supported by Adobe since June 2020. Since then, thousands of retailers worldwide have had the issue that they no longer receive security patches for their online store. Apart from the immediate financial or technical consequences, no company wants to be in the headlines or the focus of data protection authorities due to security incidents.

For this reason, the Magento community founded the Mage One project, which has been providing retailers with patches and updates since the “End of Live” of Magento 1.

Magento 1 End Of Life

In concrete terms, the end of support means that no more security vulnerabilities will be fixed, and none will be actively sought. The existing program code will also no longer be adapted to changes in the underlying programming languages or server structure. In the event of a changeover, for example, this means that the store may no longer be able to run on a new PHP version.

So if you want to continue using Magento 1 for at least a few more years, you need a solution for the security issue.
