Digital Transformation – B2B E-Commerce Strategy

THE PROJECT

The BBC Group (Behr Bircher Cellpack BBC AG) is an internationally active industrial group based in Switzerland.

The group comprises various business units in the fields of sensor technology, packaging technology, plastics technology, engineering and control technology as well as cable accessories for energy connection systems and control systems for power distribution.

Y1 advises the BBC Group on the expansion of its digital sales activities.

MASS CUSTOMIZATION WITH SAP CONNECTION

One of the joint projects was the development of a B2B web store with a product configurator in which the customers of Cellpack, a BBC Group company, can individually configure and order plastic parts for customized production. The customer is guided through an almost infinite number of possible combinations of materials, colors, dimensions, and formats for 3000 products and receives immediate information on feasibility, availability, and price calculation. This data is compared with SAP in real time so that products can also be ordered directly and bindingly. This offers customers maximum transparency and convenience and reduces time-consuming consultation at Cellpack.
