Components of PIM Scoping:

Requirements

All requirements are structured, prioritized, and checked for completeness and PIM suitability.

Data Model

The existing product data is restructured in a 360º view. To do this, we use reference products to gain as realistic a picture as possible—including the existing data quality. We also provide specific recommendations on how the data can be optimized even before the PIM is introduced.

Migration

Migration means the transformation and orchestration of existing data into the target data model of the prospective PIM system. We’ll go over planning, effort drivers, and best practices for successful data migration.

Processes

Once you have detailed your current workflow and how data is created, refined, and made available, we can build the new PIM process around them, supplemented with PIM best practices, your requirements, and the fantastic potential of a PIM system.

Interfaces

We establish the system landscape with all relevant systems that contain or should contain PIM data. Then, we design the target system landscape including the PIM system and, if necessary, long-term optimizations in the system landscape or in the data flows.

Workload and Responsibilities

We go over the typical work packages of a PIM implementation, including workload, responsibilities and effort drivers.

Planning

We create a milestone plan that visualizes the topics to be worked on, their dependencies, and the rough distribution of roles on a monthly basis. A cut-over and migration plan will also be drawn up in the course of the project.

Organization

We’ll discuss the organizational aspects, including the optimal project methodology (adapted to the project complexity and operational involvement of the customer), and project tools (ticket system, documentation, planning), and project responsibility.

Renowned, Bonn-based fashion house Daniels Mode has partnered with Y1 to implement the PIM system Contentserv. We’re in the process of updating product data from the web store and other solutions and merging them into the PIM system so the product data can then be imported to the online store.

Stiegl

The Stiegl brewery from Austria successfully introduced the Contentserv PIM software in May 2024. The state-of-the-art PIM system now focuses on consolidating and completing the existing article data so that it can be made available to beverage wholesalers and restaurants in a consistent and up-to-date manner.

AVO Werke – one of the leading manufacturers of spice blends and liquid spices and marinades successfully introduces the PIM software Contentserv as a central tool to refine the existing product information and to be able to market it internationally.
