Your profile
Several years of experience in the e-commerce environment, ideally in agencies or on the client side
Architectural expertise in at least two domains such as Shopware, Magento/Hyvä, Shopify, VTEX, or SCAYLE
Understanding of PIM and CMS ecosystems (Contentserv, Pimcore, Ibexa)
Product and data mindset: Product content, feeds, search, recommendations, personalization, tracking/attribution
Security and data protection awareness: GDPR, roles & rights, security standards
Leadership skills, team spirit, and organizational strength
Strong communication skills – internally, externally, and at decision-maker level
Strategic thinking for commerce architectures, platform ecosystems, and growth approaches
Nice to have: AI-based PX/PIM enrichment, event/stream architectures, cloud operations (AWS/GCP), feature flags, progressive delivery.
Your tasks
You are responsible for our tech radar and develop a clear, future-proof technology stack (Composable, API-first, Cloud-ready, Data-driven).
You make technology decisions – well-founded, economical, and with a focus on performance & operational capability.
You establish engineering excellence: CI/CD, testing, security, observability, accessibility (EAA), performance (LCP & Co.).
You build engineering teams (in-house & nearshore), coach leads, and promote further development.
You take on resource planning, hiring & budget responsibility – transparently and pragmatically.
You harmonize processes between PX/UX, consulting, data & delivery.
You recognize impediments early, manage escalations confidently, and establish change management.
You define meaningful KPIs and report to the board – clearly, honestly, action-oriented.
You are responsible for the quality standards of our engineering organization and deliveries.
