SCHIESSER is a traditional underwear company that has stood for high-quality, contemporary and at the same time authentic products since 1875. The brand is particularly known for its iconic classics like fine rib and double rib, which are appreciated worldwide. SCHIESSER combines enduring values with modernity and innovative strength, accompanying people with long-lasting apparel that is close to the skin.

With the introduction of the Centric PXM System, which was implemented in parallel with the renewal of the shop infrastructure, a state-of-the-art solution for product data management was installed, which from now on acts as a central tool controlling the targeted generation, quality assurance and output of all product information.

Request

Before the project started, product information and media assets within the company were distributed across different systems, storage locations, and departments. Data was created in a decentralized manner, maintained differently, and could therefore neither be used consistently nor reliably across all channels.

The actual challenge therefore lay not only in introducing new software, but in creating a common product data foundation. There was no central process to standardize the creation of product information, systematically ensure data quality, and establish transparency regarding gaps and missing content.

The reason for the project was therefore clear: SCHIESSER needed a central authority for product information and assets in order to reduce complexity, increase data quality, and create the foundation for consistent commerce and brand communication.

Implementation

Central Product Experience Management for a strong brand - uniform data, clear processes, full transparency

Y1 did not simply introduce a new system for SCHIESSER. The goal was to create a structure that brings order to historically grown data landscapes and makes product information centrally manageable for the first time.

Introduction of Centric PXM as the central platform: Centric PXM has been established as the central instance for product information and media assets. This created a clear place for the generation, quality assurance, and output of all relevant product data.

Standardization of data models and value logics: A uniform data model was built together, which makes product information structured, comparable, and usable across channels. Standardized value lists and defined data structures today ensure consistent data sets.

Increased transparency about data quality and completeness: Missing information and data gaps are no longer hidden in decentralized processes, but systematically visible. This creates the prerequisite for targeted processing of incomplete data sets and active management of product data quality.

Structured processes for product data and assets: In addition to the system introduction, the procedural foundation was also newly defined. Product data and media now follow clearer routines, allowing for more efficient maintenance, verification, and communication.

Focus on rapid effectiveness within the given framework: Given the short project duration, there was a special focus on pragmatic and efficient implementation. The goal was not maximum complexity, but maximum usability.

Procedure

Implementation began with a structured inventory. First, we analyzed what data resides in which systems and storage locations, how it is generated and processed within the company, and through which channels it is communicated.

Based on this, the criteria for good product data quality and completeness were defined. From these findings, Y1 derived a central data model as well as the associated processes for product data and media assets.

In the next step, the defined requirements were implemented in Centric PXM. After the initial coordination workshops, Y1 took over large parts of the implementation and system design to efficiently drive the project forward within the set framework.

Centric PXM was connected to the new Swiss Shopify shop, linking it directly to the new commerce channel for Switzerland. Product information can now be centrally maintained, quality-assured, and distributed in a structured manner to Shopify. This creates the basis for serving the Swiss market consistently and connecting additional markets more efficiently in the future.

Project progress was made transparent in regular coordination meetings and reviewed together with SCHIESSER. After completion of the basic configurations and the initial data migration, the system was successively taken over by SCHIESSER and anchored in everyday operations.
